Characters disguise themselves for many reasons. For example, Lucentio disguises himself to get closer to love. Tranio disguises to deceive others. The pedant dresses as Vincentio to approve of the marriage between Bianca and Lucentio. This also poses a question, do the clothes make the man. The answer has to be no because in the end all of the disguises are discovered and all fall of.
