Quantitative: In quantitative research, researchers formulate hypotheses based on existing theories or prior research, collect numerical data, and use statistical analysis to test these hypotheses. Qualitative:

Qualitative research is an inquiry procedure that involves understanding the meaning and experiences of people or teams. It involves collecting and examining non-numerical data such as words, opinions, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Since quantitative research seeks to be explained from a statistical point of view, results and data need to be associated with cause and effect in order to interpret variables. Whereas, qualitative seeks to be interpreted from population factors which leads into an understanding of human experiences and behavior being more subjective in the process.

You can study phenomena through different types of data collected by a variety of methods. For example, you need to use a quantitative research strategy to show the explicit cause and effect relationships or a numerical data about it. Nevertheless, the aims of qualitative research in exploring causes and effects of something usually focus on describing the connections between phenomena rather than an analytical indication of causality.

First of all we have to start from the fact that qualitative research is often used to explore new ideas, develop hypotheses, and generate insights that can lead to quantitative research.

In the other hand quantitative research deals in numbers, logic, and an objective stance. Quantitative research

focuses on numeric and unchanging data and detailed.

With this being said, we can see that a qualitative research approach is mainly focused on multiple realities that are continually changing and can be interpreted in different ways by different individuals.

In contrast, a quantitative research approach fouses on single realities that can be measured and then generalized; keeping in mind that while the results can be generalized they will only be valid for the case where they were gathered.

Categories are groups of things that share similarities. In quantitative research, categories are objective because they are clear and predefined labels used for things we can measure, like different age groups or income levels. On the other hand, in qualitative research, categories are more subjective. They come from the experiences, interviews, or observations of the people being studied. These categories are flexible and open to interpretation, showing the diverse perspectives and meanings in human experiences.
