         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's first law, the law of inertia, states that an object in motion will stay in motion until an unbalanced force is acted upon it. Think about tennis. When playing tennis, your objective is to hit the ball across the net. You would need to hit the ball with a force greater than the force the ball is travelling through the air at in order to make it do so, rather than simply stop and fall to the ground.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's Second law of motion says that net force is equal to the mass of the object multiplied by acceleration, or, F=ma. In tennis, the tennis ball has a constant mass meaning the acceleration of the tennis ball is directly related to the force applied to it. In simpler terms, the harder you hit, the faster the ball goes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's Third law says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If you push and object, its 'pushing back' with an equal force in the opposite direction. This is why if you hit a tennis ball against the ground, it bounces back up. The ground is exerting the same force on the tennis ball that the tennis ball is exerting onto the ground.</div>]]></description>

This means weight and mass do not have much affect on the sport. The athletes own weight or mass may change how hard they are able to hit the ball though. If they have a greater body mass then they might be able to enact more force upon the ball.</div>]]></description>
