I really enjoyed Ben Ratliff's book Every Song Ever. I thought it was a very informed book, that covered a lot of different and interesting musical aspects, and sampled from a wide variety of musical genres to explain his concepts. I think its a great read and definitely a great starting point to try and expand your musical tastes. It's a great way to learn proper techniques for how to properly listen and appreciate all different kinds of music. I really enjoyed the chapter on the music inventory. It was an interesting concept to read about, as I myself spend hours searching the internet looking for different versions of all my favorite musician's songs. And i also enjoyed the chapters that looked at all the different aspects that affect music, speed, pitch, closeness, loudness. It was interesting to see him explain all these concepts and to read about the different effects they have on the music. I loved how he included the playlists at the end of each chapter, and to restate, i really loved the variety of music that he used to explain his ideas.
