While Bailey makes a valid point when he says: "The highest expression of human nature and dignity is to strive to overcome the limitations imposed on us by our genes, our evolution and our environment," he did not address many issues humanity is dealing with today - poverty, wars, income disparity, etc. that need solutions. I would be happy if we solve these first before we deal with our genes. Or he assumes that these problems will be resolved if we first "overcome the limitations" of our genes?

Sandel wrote an interesting point that "The meritocracy, less chastened by chance, would become harder, less forgiving." The question I have relates to the impact biotechnological research and enhancement would have on our democracy. Would our society become more or less just and equal?
