I decided to photograph cheesecake for “What I Eat” because it’s my favorite dessert. I work at Jewel and I always love walking through the bakery and look at all the different baked goods they have. One day I noticed they had these little slices of cheesecake for $2.99 each and I had to get them. Friday was one of my days off and I had plans to go to my friends how so I thought it was a fun idea to get some fruit to add on to the cheesecake to give it more variety of color. I also experimented with different backdrops and lighting and this was my favorite one!

I chose to take a picture of pierogis. Every Christmas Eve my family has pierogis as a side for dinner. My great grandma used to make them and now me and my dad make them to keep the tradition going. They were very delicious.

The first thing I thought of when I thought of the color Blue was my blue iPhone. I think the reason why I have thought of this idea is because as a high school student, I am constantly on my phone that much that the first choice for this P.O.W. I thought of was my phone. I thought it was a good idea since if I’m addicted to my phone, might as well just photograph it!

The first thing I thought of for this project was my old room where the walls were painted blue. Some of the blue paint had gotten onto the ceiling. This is one of the better blots of paint on the ceiling.

I choose my blue car for the POW because I think the blue photographs really nice. The only problem was I was working and the sun was going down and I didn't have my camera but my phone did ok. I tried my best to edit it to look the best it could and make the blue pop more. I think it could have been better from a different angle better focus but the camera coulda have done wonders if I had it with a blurry background also.

Nighttime Photography is something I am interested in, probably because I am scared of the dark. I wanted to create a vibe that created tension. The exposure was 30 seconds long, f/13, and ISO 640 to make the image sharp (with my camera stabilize using the garbage can in the street!). I added blue tones using a BLUE PHOTO FILTER IN PHOTOSHOP.

When I thought of blue I thought of the colorful glimmers you get in soap or bubbles in the sun, but lately it hasn't been very sunny to get that natural glimmer. so I used an led light to emphasize the blue color.

When I heard the photo had to be of a puddle I almost immediately thought of when I was younger and used to play in puddles with chalk. I decided to make the same set up with the chalk drawn in the puddle and have my sister be a reflection of a little kid playing in the puddle.

On Saturday night I decided to experiment with Light Trails. Ever since this photo of the week got introduced to the class, I've been wanting to try light trails so badly. I was trying to find a spot with enough traffic and I decided to go to the Andy's parking lot on 95th and Cicero since there's always a lot of traffic over there. I put my camera on some random construction vehicle I found and set my timer for 2 sec. I set my shutter speed for 10 sec, my aperture as F22, and my ISO as 800 and I was really happy with this result. I was later bored so I decided to play on the mobile version of Photoshop and I was able to change the colors a bit to make some of the light trails purple.

I also wanted to share this one. I decided to have the same settings as the previous photo and I put the camera on the dashboard of my car and started driving. It was a little difficult because while I was driving the camera almost fell but this was one of the results.

This is my photo of the week for Levitation! I’d say this was ONE OF THE FUNNEST POW’s IVE EVER MADE AND I SAW THE VISION AND ITS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD IN MIND!! My intention was to add this dreamy/hazy feel to this image because whenever I think of levitation, I think of somebody thinking of a special moment from the present or past, or I think of a dream or being in the zone. Also sometimes when your listening to you playlist and that song comes on and that song hits different, you might say that song made you levitate or float.

This was fun, although I almost fell off the patio onto the lawn multiple times. A light shadow is painted to further look like I'm levitating, and the sweater and hat is draping down to seem less edited.
