         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is an activity my kids could really get into.  The Platonic Solids are pretty cool to make and having my students create their own 3D models of these solids would be pretty fun.  I also like the envelope tetrahedron.  I would love to integrate this into a lesson on not only the solid but also into an investigation of triangles.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After todays session I understand&nbsp;that there are similarities and difference when comparing different shapes' edges, vertices, and faces. Our group noticed that some of the designs were stronger than others despite the amount of paper used or folds.&nbsp;We even used some folding techniques with the creation of our anemometer!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This activity presents an engaging entry point for students into several mathematics concepts: pattern relationships (faces, vertices, and edges), surface area, volume, and the properties of polyhedrons, to name a few.&nbsp; This is better than handing students a collection of "shapes" and asking them to explore them, I think, because by making the pieces themselves they have invested into the task.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Day 2:<br>I loved building the 3D shapes today. I can see how this can be done in a classroom. I learn best by "doing"; therefore, I really think I need to create more activities for my students as well. I became more aware of all the characteristics of the shapes we made and felt that with the presentation, we have a chance to reflect upon our learning as well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've never been a paper folding phenom, so today was rough for me. I did come away with an understanding of how we can take 2d objects and turn them into 3d models. That octahedron was difficult to put together, but was a great teaching tool for our presentation. I have appreciated that so much of the class has been hands-on thus far. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It was a lot of fun working with different 3D shapes today.  I liked trying to figure out how the different pieces fit together to make the solid shape.  It was interesting when my group thought a perfect square would make a perfect tetrahedron, but when we tested it, we found the exact opposite!  It would not even make a 3D shape.  That was really interesting!</div>]]></description>
