The people pray for their loved ones, they reunite with their friends and family to remember their lives.
Many people think that it is a sad day but it is not true, for the Mexicans, it is a happy day, because they remember everything good about their lost loved ones. The people dance during the night and they don't sleep.
They paint their faces with the Catrina or skull, eat a lot and create altars for the lost ones.

La gente reza por sus seres queridos, se reúnen con amigos y familiares para recordar sus vidas. 
Mucha gente piensa que es un día triste pero no es verdad, para los Mexicanos es un día feliz, porque recuerdan todo lo bueno de sus seres queridos. La gente baila durante toda la noche y no duerme.

Pintan sus caras como catrinas o calaveras, comen dulces y crean altares para sus seres queridos.

The symbol of the festival is the Catrina. The Catrina is a skull or sometimes depicted as a skeleton. She wears a hat with flowers. Many women in Mexico wear makeup to look like the Catrina during the day. The Catrina symbolizes and parodies The Mexicans that wanted to adopt European Traditions in the past.
