A good student/worker is someone who is responsible and can work with others. When you show a sense of responsibility, you ensure that everything that your job entails gets done because it won't if you don't do your part. It also shows that you care for others because you don't want to let them down. If you are working on a group project, if one member doesn't do their work, then another either has to do the work for them or it doesn't get done at all. Therefore, everyone must take responsibility. It's also important to be able to work with others and display teamwork.

Over the last month, I've been productive during class. Therefore, I finished my essay by the deadline. Mrs. Caglia gave us more than enough time to progress through the editing process, and it's really allowed me to grow as a writer. Each and every day, I set a goal for myself. When we were doing Critical Friends, I made sure my essay was done in time for my peers to edit. During the activity, I also took thorough notes and went in to make edits afterwards. There was never nothing to do. If I completed my edits following the workshop, I would work on things like grammar, ensuring that everything was cohesive.

During Critical Friends, my group and I demonstrated teamwork. We worked together to ensure the success of the group as a whole. I worked with Victoria, Denise, and Herlinda. I really enjoyed this editing process because we were honest with each other. Even though we're all friends outside of this class, we didn't worry about hurt feelings because we wanted everyone to improve as writers. In the past, my teachers have assigned partners for editing and they would constantly tell me that there was nothing wrong with my writing. This made me a little angry because I'm far from perfect and I wanted constructive criticism. Because of this editing process, the final product of all of our team members is on par or above what is expected of us.

In my last rough draft, I placed an emphasis on quality. Throughout the writing process and as we approached the due date, I started to get a little nervous. This is a first big assignment in AP Language and Composition, and I wanted it to be the best it could be. Though I know that there's always room for improvement, I wanted to turn in something that I was proud of. I made this a priority when working on my fifth draft because it was right before my final draft.

During Critical Friends, I felt a sense of responsibility. My group relied on me as a writer and an editor. This compelled me to fulfill my duties. As a writer, I had to complete my essay in time. When we initially made the schedule for Critical Friends, I was scheduled for Wednesday. Even though, I was having a rough week, I didn't want to let my group down, so I stayed up to finish it in time. Also, as we gave feedback on everyone's essays, I felt a sense of responsibility to be honest and to help them improve their essay.
