Frank Ocean is celebrated for his emotional depth and honesty in his music. His willingness to share his personal experiences and vulnerabilities through his lyrics is inspirational. His work pushes me to dig deeper with my writing and lets me expand on new ideas, not being confined to whatever is popular. His genre blurring approach really opened a new world for me with albums like Blonde and Endless, the unconventional soundscapes, the ethereal synths, these albums don't adhere to traditional song structures, they are often featuring short interludes with spoken word segments, and unconventional transitions between songs. I aspire to have this sort of charm in my work, its magic when you hear something the first time and its a little off putting and you're not sure about it but you come back to it later and you love it.

JPEGMAFIA or also known as "Peggy" is an explosive energetic alternative hip hop producer and rapper, his music often incorporates glitchy beats, unconventional sampling, and distorted soundscapes. He is always progressing sonically and its always his own sound, dipping into soul, RnB and punk rock all on one song sometimes, he's really not afraid of exceeding the boundaries of any genre he's finessing his way into. This really inspires me to go whichever way I want with my sound, I want to create a sound that is distinctively my own and JPEGMAFIA reminds me that paving your own path and doing your own thing is the best way to really attach yourself to the listener sonically

Radiohead's lyrics often delve into complex and existential themes. They explore topics like alienation, technology, and the human condition, studying Radiohead's lyrical approach influences me to write thought-provoking and introspective lyrics that resonate with listeners on a deeper level. The way Radiohead can convey complex emotions through their lyrics and dissident production inspires me to spark my own work with genuine emotion and authenticity. KID A being one of my favorite albums of all time for its ability to isolate the listener with its desolate soundscapes in its production and themes opened up a new path I could take when it comes to producing my own music

Kanye's influence on Frank Ocean.
Kanye West is a renowned producer He has a knack for crafting intricate and innovative beats that complement his lyrics. Both Kanye West and Frank Ocean are known for their deeply personal and autobiographical song writing. They often use their music as a platform to share their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences. “Kanye West’s challenge to the conventions of contemporary hip hop is nowhere more apparent than on his 4th album 808s & Heartbreak. We argue that the album can be seen as a critical reflection on the politics of black masculinity within the context of American celebrity culture. The album is constituted by 2 key themes: First sadness and vulnerability in the face of loss; and second, emptiness and isolation as a consequence of stardom” (Hawkins, stan. 2017, mar 16. (p. 285).

R.E.M has heavily impacted Radiohead front man Thom Yorke's way of tackling music and overall sense of style steadily throughout their discography, Thom seen Stipe's vulnerability in his writing as a reminder that you don't have to justify yourself to anyone and to embrace that weirdness in yourself, it was this that pushed him to go to art school and take music seriously. Michael Stipe is one of Thom's earliest influences going as far as emulating Stipe's voice to practice in his adolescence, he soon came to realise maybe that was a little out of his range but was still captured by Stipe's writing.

In Jeff Buckley's unfortunately short career he proved to be and remain a very prominent influence to many artists including Thom Yorke. From my experience a lot of people tend to think Jeff Buckley's light and ethereal yet powerful voice is reminiscent of the front-man of Radiohead Thom Yorke, You should know that Buckley was one of few that inspired Thom's ability to really use his voice to connect himself to a song with more emotional resonanse. sometime in 1994 the band saw Buckley live, this is where Thom would be inspired to write a handful of tracks from their 1995 LP "The Bends". . "I went to see Jeff Buckley before he died. That was one of those, “It’s OK to do that?” And it reminded me of this vulnerable part of me that I was choosing to hide." Thom becoming a pioneer in contemporary EDM is largely thanks to Aphex Twin, while consistently wearing his inspirations on his sleeve Thom has given Aphex his flowers multiple times publicly "He burns a heavy shadow ... Aphex opened up another world that didn't involve my fucking electric guitar ... I hated the Britpop thing and what was happening in America, but Aphex was totally beautiful." ("Splitting Atoms".
