My walls are made of straw which provide great insulation. Along with great insulation straw is a sustainable building material because of how it is grown and how it does not require much concrete or other materials to hold it together.
http://buildingwithawareness.com/cost/

Aluminium roofing is sustainable because it can be recycled over and over again, in fact, most metal roofs are already made out 95% recycled materials. Aluminium roofing is also quite affordable at a price of in between $150-$600 per square metre. Like I mentioned before, aluminium is sustainable because it has unlimited uses, so you can keep melting down aluminium and recycling it forever!
https://www.homeadvisor.com/cost/roofing/metal-roof-installation/
https://www.sheffieldmetals.com/Resources/Blog/roofing-materials-recycling

I have chosen to get a 250,000 litre water tank at a price of $16,000. It is efficient for what I am building. It has a large storage of water which is needed for the place I am building. It will be a large help to the Food Hub and not to mention water tanks are also sustainable. Water tanks are sustainable because they just collect water without being harmful to the environment.
http://www.yourhome.gov.au/water/rainwater

Solar panels are a great source of sustainable energy. Instead of using fossil fuels it uses the energy from the sun. Even though a solar panel is elecricity the way it produces more electricity is what makes it sustainable.

Reused wood is sustainable so why not make it into furniture? Reused wood furniture is a great form of sustainable furniture and wood looks really nice aswell! Reused wood is pretty much wood but you get it from something that has been neglected or thrown out. Reusing other materials for your own use is very sustainable just a different type to what you may know.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range/building-hardware/decking/composite-decking

The solar water heater is both efficient and sustainable. Like in its name, it is used to heat water, but it uses solar power instead of fossil fuels! This is a very sustainable way of heating water. I need this for my Food Hub for cooking and other reasonable purposes.
https://www.solahart.com.au/products/solar-water-heating/rheem-52c-series/52c300/

Double-Glazed Windows

Windows and doors account for 40 percent of our energy of the heat transfers in our home. Double-glazed windows will make a huge difference. Installing double-glazed windows reduces power bills and provides sound proofing of some sort. So they are energy efficient and effective on a Food Hub.
https://centralglass.net.au/switch-dg-double-glazing-gold-coast/

Noken has come up with the invention of an energy saving tap which, as it says in its name, reduces the amount of energy you use.

This is another form of sustainable energy since it is using the wind. It is also considered a form of ‘self-sufficient’ energy. I chose this form of energy as a backup because I thought it would be helpful. Considering the area of where we are building, there may not be that much wind, so there for it’s only a backup source of energy.
https://www.offgridenergy.com.au/off-grid-power-systems/components/wind-turbines/
