However, we can understand why she did what she did. We sympathize for her as she was just trying to gain control over a situation where she felt weak. She wanted to end her daughters life because she didn't want to make her daughter suffer. Our group believes that it is possible that we may have been driven to the same response as Janina's mother. Obviously just like us, her mother was not used to the circumstances and was not prepared to face the emotional trauma.
