         <title>Office of Price Administration (OPA) </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Office of Price Administration fought inflation by freezing the prices and rents, and wages so there was a reduce in consumer demands. This led to congress raising the income tax rates and extended the tax pay to around a million citizens who didn't have to pay them before. This later started the rationing of basic foods. </div>]]></description>

         <title>War Bonds </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>War bonds were created by the Department of the Treasury in order to help raise money for the war effort and keep the inflation law. The government tried encouraging the people to use extra cash they had to buy the bonds which was successful and kept the inflation under 30%. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Rationing </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Office of Price Administration set up a system for rationing. There were books made that had coupons to use for buying scares food. These books were given to families. Majority of people took the rationing books as a way for them to contribute to the war effort. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Japanese American Internment </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Japanese American Internment was the forced relocation of Japanese Americans to a detention camp. After the attacks on Pearl Harbor there was a lot of blame put on the Japanese Americans starting with the U.S. War Department believing they were spies for Japan. These Japanese Americans were then put into detention camps where they were put in cruel conditions and given bad treatment just because of their race. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The War Production Board felt they had the responsibility to ensure people that the armed forces and war industries would receive all of the resources they need to win the war. This led to the decisions on which companies would convert to wartime production, produce raw materials to certain industries, and organize drives to collect scrap iron to recycle into war goods. </div>]]></description>

The U.S. wanted to prevent this so they felt like they needed to defeat the Axis powers as well. "The Great Arsenal of Democracy" was created from this feeling. </div>]]></description>
