This is when you switch the subject and the thing that got affected by th subject, and the verb turns into participle.

A regular phrase would be like:

*You ate that apple.

But a with passive voice it would be like:

*That apple was eaten by you.

The mirror was broken by me - passive

They made a mistake - active

A mistake was made by them - passive

This is when you talk about something you could have done but you didn't and it would have changed something.

Like when you regret something.

Theme: I broke my mum's necklace, so I couldn't go out that night
