Most trustworthy people and companies won't ask for this type of information online. So if others do, it's a red flag that they may be up to no good.

Use a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.


  1. Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters such as @, #, $, %, etc. This makes it harder for hackers to crack your password.
  2. Make it long. The longer your password, the more difficult it is to crack. Aim for a minimum of 12 characters.
  3. Avoid using common words or phrases, as these can be easily guessed by hackers using dictionary attacks.
  4. Don't reuse passwords across multiple accounts. If one password is compromised, it could put all your accounts at risk.
  5. Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords for you.
  6. Use a passphrase, a combination of words that are easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. For example, "purplepenguinjumpedhigh" is a strong passphrase.
  7. Avoid using personal information such as your name, birthdate, or address in your password.
