Beatty’s abuse of power is similar to the son thinking he was a God because he could fly. He tries to push his power and give himself everything he thinks he deserves.

Montag is like Daedalus and Icarus, as he desires more for himself and society. Daedalus and Icarus wanted to defy natural law and wanted divine power. Whereas Montag wants to read, a taboo in his society. Montag goes down a road of self-destruction to obtain his desires. Daedalus and Icarus pay for their actions from death and regret.

Guy is like Daedalus due to him bringing about change in the city by reading books to Mrs. Phelps like Daedalus who was an inventor. He then kills Beatty out of anger much like Daedalus killing the other inventor. He then flees the city like Daedalus being banished from Athens.  In the future of the book Guy most likely finds a way to get back to the city or motivate others to help them and tell them to not commit too little or too much.
