The look evolved into high fashion after the upbringing of rap and soul. That being said I typically try to sport a dark polo, a 40's professional haircut, and a slim pair of denim, chinos, or oxford shorts. Skate apparel is also in style so it is fine. Dress with the season, it's ok to try color if it looks good on you. Those who cannot afford to look professional I also understand.
