This targeting strategy is specialised as it targets several different market segments and designs separate offers for each of them.

Undifferentiated marketing, also known as a market-coverage strategy is a firm which decides to ignore market segment differences and targets the whole market with one offer. For instance, Darlie toothpaste. Besides, differentiated marketing targets several different market segments and designs separate offers for each. Differentiated marketing is divided into three types which is multisegment marketing, concentrated marketing, and micro targeting. Multisegment marketing is where most firms tailor their offerings in one way or another to meet the needs of different segments of customers. For example, Marriott hospitality company. As for concentrated marketing, it involves targeting an even smaller selected groups of customers, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Lastly, micro targeting, which is divided into local marketing and individual marketing, is a practice of tailoring products and marketing programs to suit the tastes of specific individuals and locations. Local marketing involves tailoring brands and promotion to the needs and wants of local customer groups in cities, such as H&M outlet. As for individual marketing involves tailoring products and marketing programs to the needs and preferences of individual customers, such as MAC cosmetics.

Ric Ee
