In the US their National Women's Team in football the female team gets paid less money then the males do even though they bring in more money then the men's. Due from this they have a $67 million lawsuit against the US soccer federation on the basis that this is a gender discrimination on the fact that they are paid less. When qualifying for the World cup, the US women's team received $37,500, which is not much compared to the men's team who got $108,695, so the women's team believe they should have get the same payment, despite doing the exact same job. The biggest reason for women getting paid less than the males is on the fact that the men's football, created larger ticket sales and the TV paper view is much bigger than those of women's football, meaning men get a better pay due to the money they bring in from playing the sport. However, when looking at the US men’s and women's teams, they have done the exact same job with the women's team even performing at a higher level, however they were paid over $70,000 less, but the point is that during the world cup, the men's team create more in revenue from the World Cup through TV views. However, the women made $20million more in revenue throughout the year even without the world cup paper views.
