This quote is a sentiment Eliud Kipchoge often expresses after he broke the 2 hour barrier in the marathon which was thought to be impossible. I am painfully aware that I constantly discuss the impact of running on my life, but it has drastically changed how I perceive challenges and set goals. When I first started running I believed I would never be the fasted on the team, break an 8 minute mile, or ever be able to think about running in college. Now just three years later I have broken 20 minutes in the 5k and have spoken to many college coaches about joining their teams. For a long time I believed that I was just a smart kid and that was all I could be. Nerds can't be athletes. I thought people were either athletic or they weren't. Obviously this was a very naive thing to believe as a middle schooler/freshman.

One limitation that I believe has been placed on me is that most of the decisions in my life are being made by others and not me even as I've grown older and gained maturity. One way that I plan on fighting this is by going to college out of state. I think putting some distance between me and Pennsylvania with start to allow me some more freedom over my own life.

There are many limitatons that I will have to overcome in the future, but still put stress on my current life. My major limitation that occupies my life now is the college that I will get into, and there are many more that can stem from that. It is going to be difficult to graduate from college, go to medical school, complete my residency, and then attain a job. However, I believe I will be able to get through all of these challenges because I will put effort into them. I have already been putting in effort and working hard to get past my current limitations, and believe that in my future, I can continue to do the same.

Unlimited. . . . (sung as in Wicked)

I too am going to write about running, Katie. I would have to say running long distances is a limitation I never thought I'd overcome. Having done a 50K trail race, this has tested my physical and mental limitations. As I am currently training to run a marathon in a few weeks (ahhhh!), I once again feel my physical limitations being challenged, so I have to commit to myself that I can complete the long runs and the race itself.

A few weeks ago, I swam my first 200 Butterfly. Out of any of the swim strokes, butterfly is the most exhausting and hardest. In high school, the longest fly event is a 100, and I've swam that multiple times, easily. The 200, however, was something I had to overcome. I trained for it for weeks and when I finished, I thought "that wasn't that bad." I was proud and never want to swim it again!

I agree with Eliud Kipchoge that each individual is unlimited. I think that I will experience a stronger sense of limitations in my future. Getting into an esteemed law school will be a challenge that I will have to overcome through hard work, along with the firm belief that I can accomplish this goal. In order to achieve this, I know that I will have to maintain a high GPA. In addition to successful course work, I will have to have strong extracurriculars that relate to the field of law. I believe that I will be able to overcome this challenge, because I have been able to overcome each challenge I have faced so far in my life.

For the past couple of years, I have been pushing myself a lot to improve my singing ability past what I thought I was originally capable of. Many people have had certain expectations of me and so it was very hard to push myself past the expectations of what all I should be achieving. The main way that I have been overcoming this is by focusing on my love of singing, rather than the expectations set for me. Especially with a major audition tomorrow, this has been my main focus. There are so many expectations from myself and others when it comes to this particular audition, but reversing my mindset is what has been the most useful in pushing myself.

I like to think that something I overcame was people's expectations for me when it came to musical theater. For the longest time, I was always seen as someone who only played crazy older women, but finally last year during Clue, I was the real lead instead of the comedic relief, and I was a British man, which is a total 180 from my type cast. Unfortunately I think I have fallen back into it, but I will cherish the role of Wadsworth for a long time.

So far in my life I don't think I have faced a major limitation. I mean I have faced small minute limitations which I wouldn't even bother writing about. If I were to think of something, maybe college and what I want to persue. I have yet to gain any form of inspiration on what I want to do in the future, I know I want to go to college but I don't know for what.
