The land and country-side was breathtaking, and the old-feel-y towns made it feel like you were in a Disney movie. There wasn't a meal I didn't enjoy. I am a huge foodie so getting to try the different cousines of France was pretty awesome. I even tried snails; and they were pretty darn good! I think the most delicious thing I ate was actually a packaged sandwich from a convenience store. There was some type of dance festival going on at the time, so there were little street performers everywhere. It was also a beautiful day, and I remember Darren explaining something about the monks and it was really funny how he described it. We were all exhausted, sleep deprived, and starving! Darren took us for a "quick" 5 mile walk through the city of Lyon and it was difficult to enjoy at first because we were all so tired, but when we finally reached the top of the city and saw this view... just wow. It was almost sentimental for me because it was kind of a realization of, "oh my god, I'm really here!" I'm not gonna lie, I was a little worried going on the trip at first because I knew my signing wasn't the strongest. But after signing all day, every day, I noticed a fluency in my signing after just 2 days. We arrived in Paris on Sunday night and our trip to the Eiffel Tower kept getting pushed back because of the uncertainty of the weather. So throughout that week we would see glimpses of the Eiffel Tower, and we would get closer and closer to it throughout the week, so the Tower got bigger and bigger. Then we finally saw it and got to go on it on Thursday night. There were a few moments where I caught myself just admiring the view. Our van was myself, Cheryl, Paige, Emily, Megan, Alex, Tori and Darren. This van would NOT stop beeping. At first it would beep twice every 4 seconds (yes, exactly 4 seconds) and then after a while it was a constant beep. It was very annoying, but our van group couldn't help but just laugh at it. After days of the beeping, research, and theories, we all came to the conclusion that the van was just possessed.
