When the first block children came into Ms. Thompson's classroom in a cold, dark November day, and she wasn't there. The kids thought about why she was not there, but then they realized they could do whatever they wanted to do. A few minutes later desks were being flipped over, people were running around,people were playing video games on the laptops, and kids were screaming and yelling "WOO!". It was total chaos, and then all the other teachers came into the room. They said that Ms. Thompson was in the hospital giving birth to a baby. On a very bright sunny day I came to school. I had something very important to say to miss Thompson and i couldn't wait to tell her! Then at around 8:30 I walked in and realized Ms. Thompson was gone! When I inspected her desk I noticed she had left a note "went with Willie to the warehouse", That really cleared thins up for us! After about 5 minutes our substitute FINALLY showed up and the day went normally from then on out.

"What are we going to do? " I asked Mrs. Sumpter when I couldn't find Ms. Thompson. "I guess we will just have to keep looking." she replied breathlessly. "I don't know where else to look. I have checked almost everywhere in the school." I was sprinting across the school when I heard a moan that was so loud that it could have been right next to me. I trusted my ears, and followed the noise. I discovered that the noise was coming from the janitors closet. I opened the door, and the moaning kept on getting louder. "Ms. Thompson?" I asked "Is that you?" I heard no reply. I decided to go farther into the room. I heard something, or somebody walking toward me. "Pascal?" I asked completely dumbstruck. I scooped her up, and ran into Mrs. Sumpter's classroom. "My cat followed me to school, or got into my backpack!" I shouted awkwardly. "Well," she said " that sure adds some light into our day. She is so adorable!" Everyone gathered around me, and that gave me an idea. I raised my voice, and asked everybody if they knew where Mrs. Thompson was. I heard somebody shout, "I know!" I almost screamed in delight. "Where?" The voice responded, "She has been in the front office, trying to get copies for a worksheet." At that moment,she walked in the classroom, and asked "What is all the commotion?" I sighed in relief, and told her about all of the troubles that we had while she was gone. She laughed, and we started our normal day WITH Ms. Thompson. "Why were you in the front office for so long?", I asked her She looked confused. "I wasn't in the front office." I was shocked. "Where were you then?" She said, "I was in my classroom the entire day!" I was completely shocked. The one place in the entire school that I hadn't checked twice was her classroom. I was embarrassed, and burst out laughing It was the strangest school day ever.

On an autumn Wednesday morning I was going to see Ms. Thompson to see if I could finish my Padlet but, she wasn't there. I went over and to ask my friend Anna to see if she knew where Ms. Thompson was. Anna said that she hadn't seen her or a substitute all morning. When I got back to my home base, everyone was panicking. I asked my teacher if I could get a drink of water. She said yes, so I got my drink of water and sprinted off. I ran through the whole school and searched everywhere, the janitors closets, where the lunch ladies stand, and I even asked one of the secretaries to see if I could get into the the video footage. She said so I got into the principal''s office and went over the footage. While I was reviewing the footage I saw that Ms. Thompson was at the school at 5:30 A.M. and left a sticky note in a secret place. The security cameras got blurry when you tried to zoom in so I decided to go back to Ms. Thompson's classroom and start searching even though I was as tired as I was when I woke up that morning. I was searching the area where the security camera showed Ms. Thompson's note for about 5 minutes until I found it. The bright yellow sticky note read "I am in the hospital with Nolan. If you are the first one to read this note you are the teacher of all of my blocks until I get back. I will not have a substitute because I feel they don't know how my class usually runs as well as my students. My first reader, you will need to show this note to the rest of the teachers so that they can approve and will know who is missing class, and also sign your name at the bottom with a pen. I appreciate whoever finds this note and I will give them, sadly, four Skittles snack packs. Show this note to me when I get back in about a month." I followed the directions and had so much fun teaching. I told Ms. Thompson when she got back that she didn't have to give me Skittles.
