Buenas and hafa adai (hello)! I am a lifelong tobacco control advocate from the Pacific island of Guam, a US Territory. I am currently chair of the Guam State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup, research faculty at the University of Guam Cancer Research Center and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii Cancer Research Center, and a member of the Guam Board of Medical Examiners.. I've been a facilitator for the Hopkins TC Leadership program since 2006! Together with Steve and Dr. Ben Lozare, I helped develop the original workbook curriculum and have been involved in updating it and creating the workbook videos. Fun fact: I became a grandmother (Abuela) for the second time last week! Mucho gusto en conocerlos a todos!

I hope to learn, participate, coincide, and meet specialists from different cities and countries. Multicultural communication feeds our souls. Mi nombre es Mario Bedosti, soy Coordinador de incidencia en FIC Argentina, OSC dedicada a la promoción de políticas para la reducción de enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles. Vivo en Buenos Aires, soy politólogo y me sumé al activismo social a través de la militancia por los derechos de las personas LGBTIQ+.

Good morning everyone! My name y Mario Bedosti, I am the Advocacy Coordinator at FIC Argentina, a CSO comitteed to the promotion of public policy for the reduction of non-communicable diseases. I live in Buenos Aires, I'm a politologist and I joined social activism through LGBTIQ+ rights advocacy. I am looking forward to put all the skills and knowledge I will get in the program to the service of my work for a smoke-free Argentina.

Hello colleagues, It's a pleasure to meet all of you and I am looking forward to sharing and learning from you throughout this week. I am a Technical Advisor for Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health with the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Country office for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Countries. Before this, I served as the NCD/MH Advisor with the Trinidad and Tobago PAHO/WHO country office with responsibility for Trinidad and Tobago and the six Dutch Islands (Aruba, Curacao, Saint Maarten, Bonaire, Saint Eustatius, and Saba). I was also based in the PAHO Jamaica country office responsible for Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Bermuda.

¡Hola a todos y todas! Qué alegria poder compartir esta semana de trabajo con ustedes. Mi nombre es Laura, soy abogada y profesora de filosofía, y formo parte del equipo de Salud de la Fundación Para el Desarrollo de Politicas Sustentables (Fundeps). También participo de equipos de investigación ligados a los derechos sociales de la Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. Mi inicio en el activismo por los derechos sociales estuvo ligado a los derechos de las infacias en contexto de pobreza, participando en organizaciones sociales con trabajo territorial. Los diferentes espacios de trabajo y organizacion que he transitado han estado ligados a la busqueda de construir un mundo socialmente justo e igualitario, y ambientalmente sostenible. Estoy segura que la lucha en contra del tabaco, por condiciones de viada más saludables, es un fundamental para que ese mundo sea posible. Y espero que estos días logremos avanzar y nutrir nuevas ideas y perspectivas para ese fin.

Estudie la licenciatura en ciencias de la comunicación y posteriormente la maestria en marketing, actualmente estoy estudiando el doctorado en Salud Pública.
