The reflection that can be concluded in IPPT during internship programme is I got to know a better and proper way how to handle work in the laboratory in a strategic way. I also got a knowledge about molecular work especially in analysis of gene expression which I never learn it before. I also got to know about the techniques and skills to handle equipments to use for gene analysis especially real time PCR machine and cDNA conversion machine. Furthermore, I got a variety exposed on the genes and the functions of it which include in my mini project in here. I also have been exposed a technique how to write and produce review articles. Through all of the knowledge and experienced that I got during this internship, it improved my skills when handling work in the lab. It makes me more confidence to handle lab work in very well. It also teaches me to improve myself in communication in work place.

Entrepreneurship education seeks to provide students with the knowledge, skills and motivation to encourage entrepreneurial success in a variety of settings. The one that I’ve learnt in this internship programme is during the talk on the 4th IPPT Postgraduate Colloquium 2018, they mentioned about the products that researchers can invent and develop such as 🤬 for treatment of diabetes and other diseases that can generate profit for researchers. Thus, it gave me an idea to develop my own product or idea in gene therapy to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients when I am doing a mini project and research article about siRNA function in NPC cell. So, I have a bit knowledge how does siRNA acts as therapeutic potential to treat cancer.

 

3)      How can you implement this skills in currrent & Future work? (This question related to Q2)

I will further my study in gene therapy by using siRNA project that I’ve been learnt it in this internship programme on future. So that, I can prove siRNA is really can be applied in the treatment cancer especially in NPC. The skills that I got in molecular work when handling NPC cell line, I’ll apply it in my further research about gene therapy in cancer treatment. 

My name is Nurul Syafiqah binti Mohd Zamri.. I'm from Shah Alam, Selangor. Before this, i had graduated from Diploma in Sciences at UiTM Tapah last year. I did a final year project in diploma was entitled "Biophysical properties of action potential via membrane based neural modelling". Now, i'm studying in Bachelor Science of Chemistry in UiTM Arau,Perlis. On past semester, we did an assignment about importance of transition metals and complexes in biological activities. The title we did was oxovanadium for antidiabetic agent. The reasons I choose AMDI for my Internship program because I heard at here have many high advanced technologies instrument that I can learn on how to handle it. Besides that, AMDI I heard this place is suitable place for research from many course. I expect to learn how to handle the instrument and how to make a good research so that I can apply it in future.

Assalamualaikum, my name is Norfify Zamri Bin Ahmad Sukri. I am 20 years old. I live at Lahar Tambun, 13300 Tasek Gelugor, Pulau Pinang. Currently, I am studying Diploma in Digital Technology at Seberang Perai Polytechnic, Jalan Permatang Pauh, 13500 Permatang Pauh, Pulau Pinang. I am in my last semester in my study right now and my Research Project from my previous study is developing mobile app for android. I am choosing Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI) for my Internship program because I have been informed from my lecturer and seniors that Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI) can train me while studying their interest project. During this Intern, I expect to learn as many new things as possible even thought it is different field that I have never studied before. For example in the Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI) they conducted research in medical sciences and different than I learned about system development. I can apply the knowledge I get from the Internship Training to apply for work in the future. After graduation, I plan to find a job to gain more experience at workplace. Said Ali Bin Abi Thalib, Knowledge is more important than wealth. Because of the inheritance of the prophets, the treasure is the heritage of Qorun, Pharaoh and others. Knowledge is more important than wealth because the knowledge carries you, if your property is the one who cares for it.

I’m able to make new contact and socialize with other people who are different from my study field. I can change knowledge and experience with others industrial trainee.This can enhance my social skills and knowledge.

I have been exposed to a new area which I’m not familiar it before. I have been thought to the type of research paper and briefly know how to write it. I’m also able to differentiate the type of research paper studies. This can help me

         Alhamdulillah... all praise and gratitude to the Almighty Allah S.W.T for granting me strength and willingness to complete and accomplish this industrial training at Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI). My sincere and deepest gratitude goes to my supervisor, Dr. Rabiatul Basria S.M.N Mydin for her great supervision; guidance and encouragement to me for complete the industrial TRAINING. Besides that, I am also very thankful to my facilitators which are Mr. Simon and Mrs. Hazliana for their kindness helping and guidance and shared the knowledge and skills throughout this industrial training session. This training is a noble experience for me as it exposed me with actual working environment. During this training, I also learn importance of teamwork between colleagues and communication between leader and worker are significance in working condition. Not only that, industrial training also impulse discipline as while undergone this practical training we are bound with the rule by Advanced Medical and Dental Institute.

I would like to express my deeply thankful to all those who helped me along my industrial training. The internship opportunity I had in Institut Perubatan dan Pergigian Termaju USM (IPPT USM) was a great chance for me to learn many new things and improve my professional development. The special thanks particularly to my supervisor, Dr Rabiatul Basria S.M.N Mydin for giving me this opportunity to complete my industrial training at IPPT, who despite being busy with her duties, but still helped me in doing a lot of research and allowing me to carry out my mini project during my training. I also would like to express my gratitude to PhD students, Mr Simon Okekpa and Miss Hazliana for their willing to share their knowledge and always give me detailed explanation when I do not understand about the thing that I need to do. I am grateful for their time and patience given to me all this while. Thanks for their guidance and helped me to be more confident with my work. Current: I can implement all of the knowledge and skills that I got during internship for my final year project (FYP) on next semester and for my lab work in my current semester.

Future: I can implement the researcher skills when I want to further my study in master degree on future. Furthermore, I can use this skills and the experiences to make a further research to produce a product and marketing my own product on future.
