The diary gives you insight on the life of the cabin owner, what happened to her, and how she ended up disappearing. Despite possibly getting your hopes up, this key does not open the final lock to the door. However, it does lead to the location of the final key. By using the key you found underneath the mattress, you are able to unlock this jewelry box. Beneath everything inside it lays the final key, the last one needed to open up the door.
