In the beginning of they story Robert tells the story about when he was younger and how him and his best friend Mike, began learning about finances. Rich dad is Mike's father, while poor dad is Roberts biological father. The reason why he refers to them in this way is because Mike's dad is wealthier and runs businesses, and poor dad is a middle class men who went to college and believes in the importance of education, getting a job and working hard for the rest of your life. and then get angry at their boss” (Kiyosaki 23). This piece of evidence in the story highlights the important message was trying to get across to the kids about the trap that many people live in

learn something. They learn and move on. Most quit, and a few like
you fight" ( Kiyosaki 20). This message is important as it ties in with the theme, many people will sit whine, and quit. There will be few who refuse to settle and choose to push and fight.

This quote also proves how the word failure can mean differently to many people. For some failure means means defeat and that's for the losers. Typically, their only source of income is their paycheck. Their livelihood becomes entirely dependent
on their employer. So when genuine “deals of a lifetime” come along, these people can’t take advantage of them because they are working so hard, are taxed to the max, and are loaded with debt (Kiyosaki 67). Because the middle class doesn't not have multiple streams of income they rely on their employers and to receive their paycheck, but don't invest the money rather spend it all.
