The Bubble Rock formed is a glacial erratic, which means it was formed by being dragged by ancient glacier. After the thousands of years of being dragged by the glacier, it was placed at the tip of the summit.

The earths tectonic plates shifted the surface of Maine along with volcanic forces. When this occurred, glaciers shifted across Maine's surface, flattening out the cooled volcanic material on the top of Cadillac mountain. You can see a flat surface that progressively declines in height, showing the movement of the glaciers from many thousand years prior.

Acadia National Park isn't dangerous as aw hole, you just have to be aware of the environment.

For example, The Bubble Rock is located at the very end of a cliff. You wouldn't want to risk your own life by trying to see the underside of the rock, the side that overlooks the steep side of the mountain.

Another safety concern is regarding the Thunder Hole. Do not cross the mapped off section at the end of the pathway facing the water. If you passed this area, the waves would become too strong and push you rapidly backwards.
