This is a type of computer security vulnerability typically found in web applications. XSS enables attackers to inject client-side scripts into web pages viewed by other users. A cross-site scripting vulnerability may be used by attackers to bypass access controls such as the same-origin policy.

A data breach is a security incident in which information is accessed without authorization. Therefore, this is very dangerous to happen as your information leaking to others without your permission, in which it could be in a very dangerous situation. Data breaches can also hurt businesses and consumers in a variety of ways. They are a costly expense that can damage lives and reputations and take time to repair.
This is the reason why data breaches can be seen as a cyber-crime action. Data breaches can occur for a number of reasons, including accidentally, but targeted attacks are typically carried out in these four ways:
. Exploiting system vulnerabilities
. Weak password (most likely)
. Drive-by downloads
. Targeted malware attacks
It can be prevent by having a stronger password, and checking your latest credit report.

Ransomware is malicious software from crypto virology that publishes the victim's data or continuously block access to it unless ransom is paid. While some simple ransomware may lock the system in a way which isn't difficult for a experienced person to reverse, more advanced malware uses a technique called crypto viral extortion that encrypts the victim's files, making them inaccessible, and demands a ransom payment to decrypt them.

In a properly implemented crypto viral extortion attack, recovering the files without the decryption key is an intractable problem and can be difficult to trace digital currencies such as cryptocurrency that are used for the ransoms, making tracing and prosecuting the perpetrators difficult.

The security risks and protection mechanisms involved in website performance is affected by Firewalls as they create barriers to protect networks and computers to make sure unauthorised programs aren’t able to be accessed.

Firewalls have gateways set up in them that inspect incoming data and only allow authorised traffic through it. This occurs because the opening and closing ports connect protocols and IP addresses. There are several ports on computers for data to travel through.

Ports and doors are similar as they both have identification numbers and both can be opened and closed. There are a few default ports like port 35 that gets used for emails whilst port 29 gets used normally for the internet, even though they can be swapped around.
