Me: “Is work different? Are they allowing you to work from home.”

Mom: “No, they are not allowing us to work from home. However, they do have us spaced out for our safety. As a kid, when I heard 2 weeks off from school, that’s all I cared about, I didn’t care about a pandemic. However, when I knew school was cancelled, that’s when I really started worrying for our country. I was afraid that it was something like the black plague and that our country might not have survived. Yes, I did overreact a little, I didn’t know what a pandemic was. I did think people were overreacting at first, but as we got deeper into it, I felt that people were underreacting about it. We could have been out of the pandemic right now, but people could not stay socially distanced. Being that my sister was a nurse, and filled me in on any new information about the virus, I was really confused why people went crazy over toilet paper. Not even water? Come on guys. That’s just really embarrassing for our country. Now, I think we are handling it better though. People are still not socially distancing, but these vaccines are making it a little better. Things are getting back to normal. Football is coming back to normal, along with life in general. Many restaurants that my family and I used to go to are opening back up, so we are enjoying that. I would say that my family feels more comfortable with going places now. Before, we were kind of scared to go places, now with all the vaccination going around, it’s a little better. Not completely normal now, but it’s changed a loooot since the pandemic first started. For the world, I would say the same. People were originally scared to go places, now they are becoming more comfortable with going places. It’s not the same with the mask and stuff, but we’re almost to the end of it. The world just needs to keep going in the way that we are going. With this new version of COVID, lord knows what can happen. If we keep it up, we can end this before 2022, and I hope that everyone plans to do that. So do your part, stay home. I went from being a childish little 12 year old who had no dreams and loved to play video games, to a 14 year old who now works for his dreams. I’ve grown out of a lot of people, friends or not. I still talk to those who I was close with, for the most part. But, I often focus on myself before others, since I struggled to do that before. It’s worked out for me so far. However, I do need to become more social in life, lol. Quarantine showed me how far behind others I was, so I knew I had to step it up. Although I am not there yet, I plan to be better than those that I look up to right now.  Quarantine also showed me that I needed to change myself as a person. When quarantine started, I was very kind to literally EVERYBODY. Even those who weren’t true friends. So, I separated myself, and I’m glad I did. Hopefully, by the end of “quarantine”, I will be caught up with everybody, and then surpass them. Quarantine molded both me physically, mentally, and emotionally.
