1. I enjoyed my first interaction with this book a lot ,since this book is a series book I’ve already read the 1st and 2nd book and each of the two always ended with a mystery at the end which keeped you wondering what would happen next ,this brings me to say that the 3rd book that I’m currently reading I enjoyed a lot because it started of the way it left off ,and that didn’t brought confusion to me much .

2. What did you learn about the story?

What I just gathered from the book is that avery the main character and the 4 hawthorn brothers are on a hunt to finding the anonymous man who has spied on them for a while now as they are being hold accountable for doing something in the past that they are not so aware of ,but they should be ,for the reason that is bothering the anonymous ,causing him wanting to get a huge revenge .

3.What are you wondering about the story?


The number one thing that I’m wondering about the story is ,is who is the new girl who randomly came in front of the gate at hawthorn mansion ,why she came ,and what she exactly wants ,Becuase at the hawthorn property not much people can come or go wether they are family or just stranger , and for the girl Emily to just suddenly show up out of know we’re ,having a excuse to just being their because she doesn’t have a place to be , from my personal opinion I believe that this girl Emily is working with the anonymous wanting to probably gather information from the hawthorn and Avery.

4.How many pages did you read? What is your daily reading goal on days when you have 10 minutes to read? 

I read up to 8 pages however my goal is to read everyday at least for 30 mins or an hour which brings me to probably be able to read about 10 to 20 pages a day .However in days we’re I’m in class and have 10 min of time to read I’m pretty sure reading up to 5 to 6 pages is enough .





]]> 2023-09-18 14:37:05 UTC https://padlet.com/sharsini26/6dmmq9th9xj1u9u3/wish/2708960624 Sofia ,independent reading journal post #2 sharsini26 https://padlet.com/sharsini26/6dmmq9th9xj1u9u3/wish/2726046906 Since the last time I read my book I figured out many things  Avery as of the beginning of the story was busy enjoying her time with Jameson (One of Tobias grandson) who has been there through it all with her , Always being the one who understands her , working together to find clues to solve Tobias puzzles and bringing the best out of each other at times where life felt hard to figure out in this world of games they are constantly playing in .There happiness sadly tho wasn’t always something that they experienced for much long ,such as when a Trouble comes in the form of a visitor who needs Avery’s help and whose presence in Hawthorn House could change everything ,Eve .Tobias real daughter who Avery and  jameson haven't came to terms to fully trust, with the multiple  attempts of murder towards Avery in the past time she has spent at the hawthorn state ,forming a trust issue between every single person who comes there life ,Avery making smart choices from past experiments ,making sure not to poure every information out to people easily  cause After All they could backstab her When .Eve shows up at the Hawthorne House stating that Toby has been kidnapped by a anonymous,with Avery caring very deeply for Toby it leads Jameson, Grayson, and Avery to put aside their problems and the bit of fun that was left in their life ,springing into action to solve why the kidnapper is after Toby, and what they want in order for Avery to get him back ,along that also including Eve part of their mission once they have fully trusted her by a game called chutes and latter than Xander the youngest hawthorn grandson made in order to get information out of a person in the most slightest way possible .Making me wonder if Tobias’ last game out of all his games  could really solve everything and answer the main question of the whole plot .Why Avery was chosen to be the heiress?.

My experience with this book has gotten way better than the last time I read it ,the mystery that everyone is looking for is getting solve slowly but surely ,the book is becoming more clear in my eyes ,and with the book always wanting to make you curious of what is going to happen next ,causes me to just want to read more and more to see what happens next .

When I started to read this book I noticed that i'm starting to u destine books more knowing their purpose and why people read its which is when you want to have some Alone time or you want to escape from the reality and go into another world ,another thing that I noticed is how good a book is ,when you turn a book into a movie or show I realized that their are emotions and actions and words that are left out in the movie and this is we’re books is so good because it leads you to have every detail and the characters thought from detail to detail something you don't see a lot in movies .

My goal is to finish this book by the end of October by coming after school and reading or reading at night when everything is in peace I can definitely finish it by the end of October or Maybe even more sooner depending on my life outside the school .
