Some opponents might argue that students should be able to drop out of school at age 16. However, that is not true. In fact, those who drop out of school have more of a negative impact in their life. According to the interview with Paul Moran and Missy Remiss, it states that those without high school diploma have lower earnings and higher unemployment. In addition, they even have a higher chance of ending up in jail. A final reason is those who don't want to be in school can't be forced to. They can cause problems for teachers and other students. Clearly then, it's not the best choice to drop out at the age of 16, however they shouldn't be forced to attend. - Salina

First of all, kids should stay in school till age 18 because without an education, you wouldn't be able to survive in this world. For example, "Those without a high school diploma have lower earnings, higher unemployment, lower job satisfaction- they even have a higher likelihood of ending up in jail or on public assistance." This evidence was stated in the Performance Assessment, page 14, paragraph 2. However some may disagree with this for their own personal reasons, haven't they thought about what they could do for their family? If they studied enough...wouldn't they be getting scholarships for college? Parents push you to get that scholarship to be successful. Once you are successful, you can be helpful to the family.

In addition, kids who withdraw from school under the age of 18 make less income then those with a four year degree. According to the Data Analysis graph by the U.S. department of education, it states high school drop outs make an average of $19,540 per month. They get the paid the lowest compared to 4 year college degrees. This is important to consider because college degree kids get paid $27,000 more then those without it. At the same time, those without a college degree still gets paid large amounts of cash, then those with just a high school diploma. - Salina

While it is true that opponents dropped out of school to help out with family issues, shouldn't they study harder to get their diploma? According to this evidence from the interview, "even if a student makes a reasonable decision to leave school for work, that desicion is likely to have a negative impact over the course of his or her life." This evidence states the fact that when you drop out and start helping your family, it still can have a negative impact. The negative impact may hurt you in some ways emotionally or physically. The feeling of regret for not finishing school may be one of the options.
