         <description><![CDATA[<div>Prior to WW1 Britain had the strongest army, however the Germans wanted to keep up with the British so they began to a strong navy of their own. Germany also began to increase its standing army which lead to the countries around Germany to do the same. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before WW1 began, European nations would align themselves with other European nations who shared common aspects. They would provide assistance if any military action occurred-this was known as Alliances. There were 2 main alliances in Europe, the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. The Triple Alliance was an alliance between Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungry. The Triple Entente consisted of France, England and Russia.</div>]]></description>

With the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary, they waged war on Serbia. Due to alliances, Germany came to support Austria-Hungary and that brought in even more countries to defend both Serbia and Austria Hungary.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After Franz Ferdinand was killed, Serbia and Austria-hungry went to war. Alliances enhanced the size of the war and it also set the two different sides once the war turned into World War. The different alliances began created tension before the Serbia and Austria-Hungry war broke out. Since most of the countries had the reassurance that if they began conflict they would be supported by other nations, it almost encouraged to seek conflict rather than other peaceful approaches. </div>]]></description>
