What could have happened?

Punctuation mix up that is wrong by US standards and get her in trouble or confuse her in the long run. THere could be a language barrier making the situation even harder to explain

Research

In Argentina they use the the comma and period differently than in the US. To help this student in this situation the teacher could have a conversation with the student, provide extra practice sheets, and provide a "cheat sheet" to remind the student what punctuation to use in the situation. Overall, the teacher should provide the student grace as they navigate this situation.
