On page 2 in the book, "Eddie took his last walk along Ruby Pier. He passed an elderly couple. "Folks," he mumbled, touching his cap. They nodded politely. Customers knew Eddie". This is important to make a note of because it really shows how Eddie's relationship with Ruby Pier, an amusement park is. Eddie really is such an important part of everything running and going on there.

On page 23, it takes you back from Eddies childhood and how it connects always back to the Ruby Pier. "He is five years old. It is a Sunday afternoon at Ruby Pier". Eddie has always had this place as not just somewhere to go to but in a way to be a big part of his life.

But there are others for you to meet". The Blue Man ensured Eddie that there is more coming for him. All of theses people are meeting him in heaven for a reason

On page 54, we learn Eddie has this love. In the beginning of the book we knew Eddie was alone. His mom ask him "So, you like this girl?, Eddie loses a step. It's all right she tells him I'm happy for you". Eddie is very close with his mom, if she is feeling this way about her Eddie must really like this girl.

This was important to me because Eddie was most of the time unhappy and it is sad knowing that he could careless if he died back then. The Captain wanted Eddie to know he was important to his group of soldiers.

He cares and wants to make sure he was at least able to save this girl. This shows Eddie has a heart.

At the end of the night, they stand on the boardwalk in the fashion they have seen movies, holding hands, leaning against...". I think this is important because the boardwalk might be so special to him because of his girl.

Eddie has to act tough for his dad but on the inside he felt so small and weak.

Eddie probably never really realized or came to terms with himself with how bad his PTSD. This shows how important war and being a soldier in Eddie's life was to him if 2 out of the 5 people he meets are involved with the war for him.

This really shows how she feels about "true love", this represents how she felt about Eddie and the love they had for each other.

On page 173, I think this is one of the most important quotes throughout the whole book. "Lost love is still love, Eddie. It takes a different firm, that's all." Marguerite tells Eddie in heaven. I think this is important because she realizes how depressed Eddie was after her passing. She wants him to know that their love might feel gone but he can love and remember her in different ways.

Eddie told her. After Marguerite passed away, Eddie became known as a old grumpy man who left a sense of loss and hurt inside. His love of his life has passed and felt no purpose on Earth.

Forgiving someone is one of the hardest things to do after being done wrong by that person so much.
