The ANC, short for the African National Congress, is a political organisation which has struggled injustice since January 8, 1912. They were against the apartheid government, because they wanted to unite the colours. They encouraged people to break laws, and they organised strikes and demonstrations. They started out in peace with no violence, but as the government went violent, so did they. So in 1961 they fought with weapons and blew up factories. That didn’t quite work out for them, so they went back to the peaceful plan, and people including children, danced and sang anti-apartheid songs on the streets in 1976.
