A lot of the clothes are being dumped in a lot of places.

The cost of fast fashion is that people lose their lives because of their little wages and are in need of family help. But if they get help the family name might be stuck to the factory. However this is the customers fault just as much as the business owners and factory owners since we want products fast and cheep so people are almost forced to work with low income because of our wants. If someone tries to raise their pay, the factory owners will just replace them with people who will work at the same pace for lower amounts of money.

The cost of fashion is underestimated by consumers, and the owners and people on the head of the working chain think only about how they can make the most money and not give more to those who need and deserve it. Workers in third world countries endure unjust labor conditions and low salaries that restrict them from the ability of living humanely and safely. Values without a price tag, such as the health and happiness of the workers or the effect on the environment are often discarded and not taken into consideration, and it is then when they make the most damage.

I think that the cost of fashion now a days is the lives of many people. Sometimes it is there physical life as many people have died because of fast fashion. But also mental life as not allowing people to go to school and improve their life. These are examples of things monetary and things without monetary value. Other examples of these are the environment, dignity, family and fabric, chemicals, GPD. This is not stopping but rather getting worse as we become materialists, and wanting more things. To reduce this we must start realising what us happening and we must start changing something in any way possible.

But often it's too late and people would lose their job if we suddenly stop buying fast fashion so there is no a good resolution for that. Unfortunately most of people ignore that problem and just going for the lowest price possible.

After learning about fast fashion and the cost of fashion, my thoughts on it has changed completely. I have been conscious on what I am buying and how much it costs. The fact that the price completely changes from when the clothes are made and to when they are selling is fascinating. There has been so much work and effort put into the clothes and it's basically forced labour towards the garment and factory workers. People are dying from this and have put in a lot of work which maybe has been brought by somebody by a cheaper price or thrown in the garbage can without notice. The thought that comes to my mind is, What are we doing? Why isn't this bigger then stated?

I think that the current cost of fashion is something that the vast majority of people chose to ignore. It is easier to enjoy the cheap prices and live in ignorance of the blood price. We as humans have needs, and when our needs are satisfied, humans tend to hoard. When people shift towards greed, with the mentality "more is better", it is very easily exploited by capitalistic companies. The fact that we think that our needs are fulfilled is also untrue. As said in the video, the things that we need are going up in price, and the things that we want are getting more and more accessible. Society is convincing us that the things we do not need are things that we must have, and as such make us poorer and poorer, even as our number of belongings gets bigger and bigger.

Most of the time common people show their ignorance or lack of knowledge toward the situation living far away from it, in the old developed world (continents such as Europe or North America,) blinded by the propaganda with which we meet almost every day in any type of medias we see commercials of any kind. This is a large shift of our present society toward the new idea "the more you have the richer you are"

I currently know that fashion has two costs: one with monetary value and another without. The part of fashion with monetary value is usually the part that normal consumers see- the cost of materials, the worker's pay, GDP... The part of fashion that doesn't have monetary value is something that many consumers choose not to see. This includes bad working environments, which can lead to many deaths and health hazards, natural resources and materials are depleted and harmed, families are torn apart...
Furthermore, the consumers and major corporations who are choosing to ignore this major issue are increasing the negative costs of fast fashion by doing nothing. Every day, the worker's pay gets lower and lower, factories have to cut costs to meet the consumer's expectations and by doing nothing, these occurrences will simply continue and get more serious.

I think that the cost of fashion is how companies exploit their workers which leads to poverty and horrible lives of the people living working for these companies. This is all for the more fortuned people living in countries such as the USA so that they can get new products more often at a cheaper cost. The factories are under constant pressure and are forced to not pay their workers the amount they need and, for example, keep the construction of buildings save. The problem is also that the companies selling the clothes can't stop producing cheap clothes because then they will have less costumers. The "richer" society believes that it is better to buy cheap products although some of them know how bad it is for the countries making these products and how it ruins their economy. If this society can agree on making the product more expensive then it might change a lot for other people's live and might help resolve the problem. If they do not do this a lot of damage can be done to environment, countries, and people.

People will not make a change unless they actually experience the life of the workers in the factories, and because so little people relate to the workers we will not be able to make a change.

It impacts both workers' mental and physical health not to mention their homes and environments altered by the byproducts of our increasingly materialistic views on fashion. Because of the ever growing necessity for materialistic goods, our society has been altering fashion more and more, and because of companies' firm grip on what we wear and how we think, we all have to pay the price.
