I have been working for around 20 years in the Basque Country, and for most of that time with groups of teachers, who I love teaching because we have lots of interests to share. In my spare time I like doing what I think are the normal range of things, being with friends, a bit of hill walking, a bit of eating nice food and quite a lot of promising myself that I'll do all the things that have to be done.... next weekend!

A few months ago, I moved to Bilbao in order to work as a postdoctoral researcher in Modern History at the University of the Basque Country. In the last few years, I have been working at different universities in Latin America and Europe, getting a wide professional experience and building good memories of the people I have met. I currently research the modern history of emotions, which is a new, interesting field to look at. When I get released from my professional duties, I try to meet up with friends to dance salsa, watch a movie or just to have a beer. Now, I am taking two English courses so as to refresh my rusty English, and I´m finding them quite useful so far. Looking forward to the next lesson.

I have recently started doing my PhD., years after being working in different areas such as banking, consultancy, labor advising and adult teaching. That's why sometimes when I have to introduce myself, I've to look back on all the jobs of my career!
I'm a mountain enthusiast - if I have free time, I usually spend it on doing routes. Also, I enjoy doing sports; that's mainly my leisure.
The course goals I have are to improve English level, pronunciation and so on in order to apply it to teaching and researching. And also for traveling, of course!

Thanks to this photo I can explain two of my favourite places, and consequently what I like to do in my spare time. I love living close the sea and going for long walks along the cliffs of Sopela, the town in which I live. I also spend summers near the sea, but in this case in a town full of wonderful beaches in the Mediterranean area. There, I can also go for long walks on foot or by bike along the beaches of Alcossebre. Although it is true that to live close to the sea is important for me, I like skiing very much too. Indeed, when the summer is finished I look forward to the snow. I usually go to La Mongie-Tourmalet in Pyrenees. It has a greater number of runs and good snow from the beginning to the end of the season. I hope we have a good snow season this year.

I'm a teacher in what used to be the Nursing School of Donostia, now a section of the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing, although I'm from Bizkaia.
I have loved teaching since I was a dance teacher in the last XX century, but it is clear that when we became professionals, our skills must be improved day by day.
I've just started a couple of English courses, combined with my teaching tasks, and at the moment I feel my head is bigger: maybe my brain is still growing, or is it simply my confusion?
Actually, my perception is very positive, so let nature do its work.
I also liked a lot our first class, and now I'm paying more attention to pronunciation, although my interest ris focused on improving my written English, to be applied in research article production.
I hope we all will finish this course being able to really manage in any context in English.

I am from Elgoibar, but I came to Bilbao to study engineering when I was 18, and I have lived here since then.
I work in the Engineering School of Bilbao, and I'm planning to submit my PhD in the next few weeks (I hope!).
I have also worked as a Basque teacher for some years. I started giving Basque classes to pay for my studies, but I kept on some years teaching, since it was a nice job. However, I decided to quit and came back to the university, because I wanted to follow my engineering career. Currently, my idea is to stay in the university and develop some research in the Aholab laboratory, where I work.
I would like to improve my English, especially the oral part, since I haven't used it for years, and I would like to focus on pronunciation, since I think that it will be good for me to better understand to native speakers and for native speakers to understand me more easily.

I've been teaching at the University of the Basque Country for the last eight years. Before, I was teaching at a conservatory, because I'm a music teacher. I love music, and I'm glad to be working in the Faculty of Education because here I have the opportunity to show future primary school teachers what is music's value and its importance in education. Of course, I enjoy (a lot of types of) music, and I also like to do some other things in my free time: reading, having a beer with friends...and travelling, specially if I can enjoy my beloved hobby while practising my English!

I'm from Bilbao and I'm working as Associate Professor at the Science School at the University of the Basque Country. In addition to teaching, I do research at Biofisika Institute focused in cardiometabolic diseases.
I live in Bilbao and love what the city offers such as "poteo", "pintxos", nice places for walking or running, close distance to the beach and to the mountains, among others.
I like listening to music, watching good tv series and reading. Lately, I've been reading in nglish in order to improve my grammar.
I have one cat, called Luna, she is a little wild, but I prefer her that way.

I could define Journalism as the keyword to explain my professional and academic career. I studied Journalism, I worked as a journalist for 15 years, I got my PhD inJournalism and I've been teaching Journalism as a lecturer in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication since 2009. As you can guess, I love Journalism (otherwise, I'd probably need psychological treatment, and, without a shadow of doubt, a new job). However, and fortunately, Journalism is not the only keyword in my life. Family, friends, practice of sports, art, the sea, cinema (tv series as well) and literature are added in my list. As you can check below, with a picture of my office, tidiness is not included.

I ´m a lecturer at the University of the Basque Country. This has been my professional job for many years. Previously, I was a trainee in Public Administration for two years in Oñati (a small village in Gipuzkoa). I have belonged to the Department of Political Science and Administration since the 90s and I have experienced at first handthe creation of the department since the beginning. As regards personal issues, I own a cat, as you can see in the photo. He´s very nice and friendly (I do not feel alone with him). It ´s very nice to live in Durango surrounded by mountains, even though I´m from Getxo and sometimes I miss the views of the sea (We chose Durango for being halfway between my workplace and my husband´s). In my spare time (what´s that?), I love very much riding on a bike, going for a walk (to the mountain, sometimes) or reading a good book. I also spent much time talking with my teenage daughters (it´s not always a relaxing time but tremendously uplifting). I´ve been learning English all my life. I definitely hope to improve my English .

I´m from Leioa and I work as a drawing teacher in the University of the Basque Country, which is really lucky since I love to draw. I also love reading, listening to music, riding my bike and hanging out with my friends. Even though I like animals, especially hairy ones, I haven´t got any pets, but I love spending time in the garden sowing and growing plants. And of course, eating their fruits! So, why I joined the English B-2 Mountain Team? Well, I love mountain walking (yes, I´m very creative), but most of all, I miss speaking English in the Highlands; Scotland, what a nice country, a must if you love rain. They even sort it by the angle it falls!!

I was born in Zaragoza, but I have been living in Bilbao for 5 years now. There is something about the pleasant lifestyle of this city, but still full of cultural movement, that I find quite unique.

Nowadays I am in the 2nd year of my PhD research in Art and Technology. Being honest, in the last few months almost everything in my life revolves around my work, I am quite obsessed! Despite this, I still enjoy a lot watching movies, playing videogames, visiting friends in other cities and with a proper dancing party!

Before coming back to academic life, I´ve had many different kinds of creative jobs, mostly related to scenic arts and feminism.

During this course, I would like to improve my fluency speaking in English... It’s terrifying how languages are forgotten without practice‼

 I work with teenagers and their families at High School trying to resolve their problems, giving advice and so on. I also work with teachers helping them when they don’t know how to manage the group in class. 

At the same time,as an associate professor, I teach at the faculty of education in Leioa training students to be teachers in the future.

I would define myself as a person who has a great curiosity for different topics, such as politics, psychology, social issues (I am currently fully involved in a human rights NGO), languages and education, of course.

Hi,I´m Ziortza Garcia Azpiazu, I´m a nurse and, after being 6 years working at different hospitals, now I teach at the Medicine and Nursing Faculty. Before studying Nursing, I studied for a Social Education degree and I worked with children, people with drug dependence and adults with special educational needs. All these experiences help me a lot to develop the way I teach. I haven´t got a wide experience in research, as I am still a PhD student. I am very interested in this English course because I am going to Bordeaux for a research stay, so this course will be very useful to practise English before going there. I love spending time with my friends and family, having a good glass of wine or a special meal in the “txoko” we´ve got in Bilbao.

I work at the university of the Basque Country as a teacher for more tan 25 years!
I studied Political Science at the Complutense University of Madrid and later I began to work in the Basque Administration as a civil servant. But I have always liked teaching and at the time I had an opportunity I came to work at our university, specifically as a teacher in the Department of Political Science and Administration.
English is my pending subject, in theory all my life studying it but without reaching a level that makes me feel safe! But this has not stopped me from traveling to english speaking countries, to attend conferences and even to present papers, but my goal is to achieve greater ease, improve my gramar and vocabulary. and above all, that my better english level allows me to meet a small dream as it is to allow myself a small stay in a foreign university.
To finish some more personal data, I am from Getxo, I really like mountains but also the beach. I have a dog which we found on a Cadiz beach and that´s why it is call Dune!
