What Is Needed For Progress To Occur

There is a need for multilingual approaches from practitioners toward literacy programs. Otherwise, less attention will be given to local realities and community needs
Local organizations and management of new health services – incorporate literacy into health interventions supported by an international NGO
Strong literate environments to contribute to retention of literacy skills through collaboration at the community level (i.e. agricultural marketing, public health interventions, Microfinance initiatives)
Internet access and mobile phones may promote stronger literacy environments and reading practices
More promotion of programs demanding literacy skills among adults
