Locate on a world and regional political-physical map the countries of France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.

SS6H3 Explain conflict and change in Europe.
a. Describe the aftermath of World War I: the rise of communism, the Treaty of Versailles, the rise of Nazism, and worldwide depression.
b. Explain the rise of Nazism including preexisting prejudices, the use of propaganda, and events which resulted in the Holocaust.

I choose to create my content curation over my 6th grade standards for Europe focusing on the aftermath of WWI, the Rise of Nazism, and the Holocaust. I choose this topic because it is the most interesting of all of the 6th grade social studies standards and my favorite unit to teach. All of the resources that I posted in my assignment I have used in my classroom. I always begin each unit with the geography standards. Students need to have a geographic understanding of the area that they are learning about. I included a Blooket that I created for my class on the geography of Europe. I use a variety of informational videos to introduce topics to my students. The videos provide a brief overview of the information that we are going to be learning about. I especially like the use of the BrainPOP videos because they allow you to add in questions with videos to check for understanding. The copy of the Treaty of Versailles that I included in important because it sets the stage for the entire Unit of study. The Treaty of Versailles is the beginning of the end and we spend a good deal of time going over the elements included in this treaty. Students gain understanding of how Germany felt with their punishment and consequences of their part in WWI.
