a. The system that we are studying is Xcelera ECHO system. Advances in echocardiography have significantly contributed to its utility as an invaluable diagnostic tool for monitoring of cardiac performance. So, we are interested to learn how the system works regarding the method of obtaining data, the type of obtained data , the processing of the data and the way to store, access and deal with such data.

b. From our reading on Xcelera ECHO System, we found that:

ECHO system acquire data by Non-invasive single trans-thoracic cardiac ultrasound waves.

ECHO system has sophisticated equipment that analyzes waves produced and received by transducers.

ECHO system assembles the reflected ultrasound waves then creates an image of the heart which appear on a television screen.

ECHO system converts the echoes into images to produce a one-, two-, or three-dimensional picture of the heart.

ECHO system presents data as spreadsheet with various echo parameters and representative images.

ECHO system put the recordings on a computer disc or printed on paper to be reviewed by a cardiologist.

c.
