I was born in the Philippines. It's a beautiful country with beautiful and hospitable people. Filipino traditional food or dishes are adobo (pork stew), pansit (noodles) and lumpia (egg rolls). My favorite holiday is Christmas. Filipinos start celebrating Christmas in September. That means you start seeing Christmas decorations and hear Christmas music starting in September. They are many family gatherings during this holiday. We also go to Church starting in the middle of December at 5 o'clock in the morning to attend mass. After mass, there are a lot of vendors selling traditional snacks or desserts such as rice cake.

I also like the fact that education is prioritized by many. Most families value higher education, so parents work hard to give their children the best possible education and future for their children. There are a lot of private, catholic, exclusive all-girls or all-boys or co-ed schools. They are very expensive, but truly help you in your upbringing and the future. There is also public schools that cater to the less fortunate, and are also pretty good because most, if not all, teachers and administrators are disciplinarians and truly care about giving their students the best that they deserve. Truthfully, that is one of the best things that I admire in Filipinos.

I miss my country, too. My husband was also born in the Philippines, raised in California, but he has kept his Filipino values. My husband and I take our kids to visit the Philippines. My kids have been there a few times, and they always enjoy their time there because of the beautiful pristine beaches, good yet cheaper food, affordable vacations and accommodations, and they get to see their cousins from my husband's side especially at Christmas time, when we all gather and spend precious time together laughing, entertaining each other, telling stories over delicious food. Great memories indeed!

What I would like to change about my culture is that there would be more schools because the level of children who do not go to school is very high and the government they don't care .there are not many jobs and if you have one the dont pay enough the for the heavy work that is why many of us emigrated to the United States so that our families have a better future and better education for are sons ,but I love my country ❤🥰

María García

I had the privilege of being born in the most beautiful country in the world, I was born in 🇻🇪 VENEZUELA. Venezuela is located in the north of South America. It is known for its large oil reserves. It has one of the richest soils in the world, with reserves of mineral and energy resources.
Currently, Venezuela is going through one of the most horrible episodes in its history, a long dictatorship of 21 years. This situation has most of the people in poverty and with few employment alternatives because the government expropriated many companies and closed others. These and other political causes gave rise to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that forced Venezuelans to migrate to other countries and today we are scattered all over the earth.
However, Venezuelans are people of faith, resilient, hospitable, hard-working, enterprising, generous, happy and friendly. And we are sure that we will emerge stronger from this bad streak, with the help of God.
Now, I will share part of our cultural identity. The National music is the "Llanera music", its typical dance is the "Joropo" and is danced in the typical costume called "Liquiliqui".
There are many holidays in my country, but I like Christmas because the family gets together to make "Hallacas", which is the typical Christmas meal and to go to the Rooster Mass.
Venezuela has different very delicious dishes, but the most typical are: Pabellon, sancocho, arepa, cachapa, empanada, among others.

I was born in Abasolo, Guanajuato. In the beautiful country of Mexico. I love to celebrate May 10, mother's day, because in my ranch, they celebrate by hiring mariachi and giving all of the mothers gifts. They also give everyone big baskets full of fruit. Some foods I love to eat are barbacoa de chivo, very delicious! My family loves Christmas time, all of the singing and baking that my family makes is very delicious. We all go to see the nacimientos in all of the houses in the neighborhood. We love to see the fireworks when it is New Years. Mexico is a beautiful country with so many celebrations and traditions I love Mexico. 🇲🇽
