    For the cookie activity, students will be given the option to draw a picture if they have trouble forming letters and words.

    Heterogenous groups will be formed to allow students with higher levels of verbal expression to model for peers.

  • Informal Assessment: Anecdotal records will be kept throughout the discussion as the teacher listens to comments made and questions answered
    • -->This will take place in both the large group and small group settings so the teacher can get an idea of students' understanding of community and strengths.

    • Formal Assessment: a checklist will be used while walking around the classroom at the conclusion
    -->This may be done by verbally asking a student, “what strength did you come up with?” or reading what they wrote on their cookie.  
    -->If the student correctly identified a relevant strength, they would be given a check.
