It is an omnivore and also is one of the smallest deer species in the world. These animals are quite resourceful due to the many wonderful adaptations they have. The adaptation they are best known for is their reaction when they sense a predator coming. These unique animals will make a sound that resembles a wild dog when they feel threatened and this in return can scare the predator off while also warning the rest of the pack that it is time to evacuate. This amazing adaptation is why this animal can sometimes be called the "barking deer". Another interesting adaptation that the Indian Muntjac had is very useful during mating season. Males in this species have short fangs that they use to fight off other potential mates to win a female. Another adaptation males can use for defense is their short antlers. These can be used to hit an enemy or to move things with. The adaptation that I would really like to focus on is their barking and how it is used. These animals use it to alert their fellow deer to tell them that a predator is near and it's time to leave. That could certainly help in my situation because I need a signal that only my friends and I could understand. I would invent something that can produce a sound that could be activated by the push of a button for quick access and for the sound to be produced quick enough for us all to escape that person. Moving onto the Muntjac's other adaptations, I would say that its antlers and fangs could also be a great addition to this special tool. If for some reason the sound aspect of the tool malfunctions, then a defense mechanism could be attached to ward off the annoying person. For example, a pair of vampire teeth could be a part of the tool and one could put them in to scare off the enemy. A headband with antlers attached could also be included as well. Lastly, the Indian Muntjac has pores on its face that leave a scent that marks its territory. This could also be a great addition to my invention. In the tool kit I would include a very strong smelling perfume that if anyone smelled it they would know exactly who was in the room. With this helpful tool, before the annoying person even saw us they would be able to smell the perfume and know they should probably just head the other way. Someone who won't leave you alone? Someone annoying? I can think of a few that my friends and I would rather not talk to, but unfortunately a problem has occurred. Anytime that person is around, there never seems to be enough time to escape them because we don't have a way to alert each other that it's time to hit the road. I would love to find some way to be able to communicate quickly with my friends in a way only we would understand and be able to escape those pesky people easily.
