Role play 2
1. DNA's, lack of completion of home task, may answer questions bluntly. Seem unwilling to engage in the intervention or that there thoughts are elsewhere.
2. Reduced eye contact from previous sessions - looking at the floor or out the window (Note - CYP with ASC may do this yet still be engaged).
3. Changes in body language noted from previous session e.g closed body language, sits in the chair furthest away from you, turns body away from you etc..
4. Reason for this could be:
- Systemic/ environmental issues: parental breakdown, bullying, relationship breakdowns e.g. friendships, relationship, not the appropriate intervention, may be in the pre contemplation stage in the cycle of change and therefore not ready to engage in therapy yet.
- Previous safeguarding issue raised.

No or little eye contact. Looking at their phone, or looking at you aggressively.
Body language could be very closed, hunched, turning away, walking off or being aggressive.
Not engaging with the intervention, not saying anything, not doing any of the homework required, ridiculing the interventions.
There could be many reasons for this:
fear of exposure, not the right time, not the right service, past experience, too tired, not the right match of therapist and parent and peer pressure.
