21st century:

Nowadays, bags come in many shapes and styles with different colors and designs. Even men these days have purses known as "man-purses." You can get many customizations such as an over-the-shoulder, a clutch, a drawstring, a duffel, a wristlet, a crossbody, and a tote. Some bags have pockets inside and out. Designers these days have picked up the trend of transparent materials, which can show the contents of the bag. These days people keep wallets, their phones, makeup, credit cards, money, keys, tissues, notebooks, pens, and even food and drinks in their bags!
