Two things affect the temperature in Chicago that make it warmer than Batavia. The first thing is Chicago is an urban area. Buildings, parking lots, and roads and industrial activities make the climate different. Chicago tends to be warmer by 2 degrees on average especially at night. The second thing that makes Chicago warmer is Lake Michigan. The winds that go over the warm lake brings warmer air to the city. These two reasons make Chicago warmer than Batavia.

This is Chicago in the winter it meat think it is cloud but it is two degrees warmer then Batavia.
