In “Mockingjay” by Susan Collins and “The 9/11 Speech” told by George W. Topic sentence: The “9/11 Speech” and Mockingjay can help the reader connect because it can help us relate to Katniss because 9/11 was a real thing, but the destruction of District 12 was in Mockingjay: a fictional story. Bush and Mockingjay Excerpt by Suzanne Collins are paired together, so the reader can make better connections to the Mockingjay in many ways. Thesis: In the passages Address to the Nation on 9/11 and Mockingjay Excerpt by George W. Bush and Suzanne Collins, paring the two stories together helps the reader make connections to Mockingjay. The first way that pairing 9/11 speech helps the reader connect with the Mockingjay is when George W. Bush says “The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet unyielding anger.” (Bush)Katniss is feeling the same way when she sees her home and everything round it get destroyed. </title>

In the two writings "Mockingjay" and "911 Speech they help the reader understand each other in many ways.
It helps us by giving us a real life example that the reader have experienced so we can know how Katniss is feeling.
