We did a lot of performance tasks, and the outcomes were fine as long as I learned enough. During our conferences, we sometimes play mini-games in which nearly all of my classmates actively engage. Our teacher introduced us to the five classifications of matter and discussed their formulations and characteristics within the first week. Then she addressed us with the Kinetic Molecular Theory, which was the most difficult subject for me this quarter. Maybe it's only that chemistry isn't my favorite, but I'd agree it's better than physics. She also told us about the characteristics of certain types of matter.  Temperature, capillary motion, density, fluidity, surface tension, and viscosity for liquids; strength, volume, and temperature for gases; and metallic, density, crystalline, and amorphous for solids. We then moved on to the physical and chemical properties of matter the next week, and our activity for this week is to perform a group activity and address the subject assigned to us. My groupmates were fantastic because they all participated in the assignment that was assigned to us, and our leader had us choose which number we should respond to. Moving on to the next week, we began talking about atoms and their past, which included scientists. who created the concept of an atom.  As I mentioned in my weekly reflection, I am not particularly skilled in history, which explains why my AP scores are so low. Given my curiosity about dates and names, I am terrible at remembering them. So I did my best to listen to our synchronous conversation so that I could respond to my topic evaluation after class. Fortunately, I checked the PowerPoint that was posted to our canvas before taking the test, because otherwise, I am certain that I would not have received the score. The next week, we discussed the water cycle, which was a great example of phase change. That is the constant flow of water through the earth's surface. wherein water transforms into all forms of matter, ice in solid-state, fluid in liquid form, and water vapor in a gaseous state. Going back to atoms, they are a very tiny particle from which everything of everything in the universe began, and you won't believe it when I tell you that they are not the smallest, but their subatomic particles! The electron, which is a negatively charged particle, the proton, which is positively charged, and the neutron, which has no charge. Elements and compounds were still revisited, but we didn't spend too much time exploring them because we had already learned about them in previous years of education. We were assigned a 3rd Quarter Project to build a 3D atomic model before our 7th-week launches. Zirconium is the element I was assigned. It possesses the atomic number 40. And, as the week progressed, we finished our lesson and had a summative examination on the periodic table of elements. Ma'am Yutuc hasn't changed; she's just a click away if you have any concerns about the tasks or the class. She will respond politely, and during our synchronous sessions, she never gets bored of teaching. Even though some of my classmates have a bunch of concerns she manages to answer them all, and she even gives a video lesson about it sometimes. She genuinely encourages us to learn amidst the pandemic we are facing.
