The Mughal Empire was one of the strongest empire in the world but there were some reasons for its decline. The first reason was that there was no unity among the people as the places among the empire had a lot of riots which led to the breaking up of the empire. The second reason was that there were a lot of fights and riots among the sons of the emperor for choosing the successor to the throne. This was very money consuming and time consuming. The third reason was that as Shah Waliullah said, the Mughal Empire had been involved into a lot of luxuries and extravagance. They did not really care about the empire breaking or the uprisings. The emperors were very selfish and mindless after Aurangzeb.
Enaya Akram 9c blue

1)The Mughals were ruling over a very large area/territory but had far too weak administration, this continued but with time their army declined and were no longer consider an effective fighting force.
2)The Mughals became blind in the site of wealth and betrayed the principals of Islam and in this era Beautiful buildings were a symbol of power(where did the Mughals go wrong) and expense was a sign of extravagance.
3)As the noble grew in power the Mughal Empire kept losing power with authority over their kingdom. With weak Mansabdar's control from the centre, the mansabdari system was inafficiant as they had to travel miles of miles to send messages. Discontent grew and the revenue from tax collection declined.
4)Finally the Britishers arrived and tried different coups to take over the south continent(India).
Muhammad Ibrahim Ali

Attacks by Nadir Shah and Ahmad Shah Abdali, which were themselves the consequences of the weakness of the Empire, drained the Empire of its wealth, ruined its trade and industry in the North, and almost destroyed its military power. The emergence of the British challenge took away the last hope of the revival of the crisis-ridden Empire. They were indulged in wealth and luxury. They were not ready for the attacks because they didn't have the man power to fight.
