Why did she become a writer?

Since she lived in such a small town there was no library. Her mother had to have books shipped to their home. Beverly loved books. However, when she moved to Portland for school she found that she was behind the other students in her reading abilities. When she ended up in the lowest reading group she decided she was going to spend more time reading. So when she wasn't at school she was at the library. By third grade her reading abilities had improved immensely. Her librarian suggested she write books when she got older. Beverly liked the idea and decided she would do just that.
